Consultation

I provide outpatient and inpatient consultations for chest pain, palpitation, shortness of breath, giddiness, blackout, abdominal swelling, ankle swelling etc. I also provided cardiac assessment for people wishing to engage in strenuous activities or patients scheduled for high risk surgeries.

In special cases, I also see patients in emergency department or after hours in my clinic.

Services

12-lead ECG

10 electrodes are attached on the chest of the patient to detect the electrical rhythm of the heart; this test is useful for irregular heart beats and possible heart attack.

Stress ECG

10 electrodes are attached and secured on the chest and abdominal wall of the patient and patient will exercise on the treadmill machine whilst supervised by Dr Tang. The test is meant to detect artery blockage, electrical instability during exercise, cardiac function and a person's stamina (fitness level).

Echocardiogram

A dedicated ultrasound machine with a probe is used to examine the structures of the heart. It helps to further analyse problems where patients are referred for murmur evaluation, cardiac function assessment and valves assessment.

Coronary Angioplasty

Coronary angioplasty involves using balloons and stents to open the narrowed arteries due to plaque or sometimes clot formation in-situ. The procedure can be carried in the same setting during coronary angiogram.

64 Slice MSCT Scan

I use 64 slice Toshiba Aquilion CT scanner to do calcium score and coronary angiogram to detect coronary calcification, plaques and stenoses.

Pacamaker Implantation

Patients with electrical problems of the heart requires implantation of permanent pacemaker to ensure the heart does not stop beating abruptly. This is done in the cardiac catherisation laboratory under light sedation.

Coronary Angiogram

Threading a tube via the wrist is how to do routine coronary angiogram, an invasive test to evaluate the degree of coronary stenoses. The test can be done as a daycase whereby patient can be discharged 2 hours after the procedure. Transradial coronary angiogram is my default mode of performing angiogram; alternative way is transfemoral route when right groin is punctured and patient is required to rest in bed for 6 hours post procedure.

Peripheral Angiogram

Problems with the arteries outside the heart can be further evaluated via peripheral angiogram.
